The General Layout depends on;

 

  •  Model of the machine
  • Quantity and capacity of the supporting equipments (mixer, transfer belts, trolleys, stacking system robot, etc...)

Therefore the general layout becomes clear after the customer's decision what to buy.

Pressing Machine



It is the main unit that produces different types of blocks, interlocking pavers and curbstones. It is mostly chosen as semi automatically controlled.The machine's model determines the production capacity.

It has vibrators at the vibration table(s). The vibrator power changes according to the machine's model and the concrete products that are going to be produced.

The Pallet Feeder, the Chain or Roller System and the Hydraulic and Electrical Controls are the main parts of the pressing machine.

Mortar Transfer Belt


It is used to transfer the low slump concrete from the Mixer to the Block & Interlock Making Machine.

The length and width of the belt is designed according to the capacity of the mixer and the machine's model.

There are "on" and "off" buttons at the electrical control panel to discharge the low slump concrete to the hopper of the Block & Interlock Making Machine.

Mixer

It is used to produce low slump concrete that is needed as the material at the Block & Interlock Making Machine.

Cement, aggregate, sand and water are the raw materials used in the low slump concrete production.

The gate of the Mixer is opened manually at semi automatic operated systems. The capacity of the Mixer is decided according to the concrete requirement of the Block & Interlock Making Machine.

The water inside the mixture is mostly adjusted by using a bottle or cup.

Skip Hoist System or Sand Transfer Belt (optional)

Both skip hoist system and the sand conveyor belt are optional equipments used to transfer the raw materials (aggregate and sand) into the mixer.

Normally when neither a skip hoist system not a sand conveyor belt is bought together with the mixer, the customer chooses to prepare a small ramp or to dig a hole and put the mixer into this hole.

The percentage of the customers' decision about feeding the mixer;

%30 buys a sand transfer belt

%20 puts the mixer into a hole

Moulds

Each mould consists of a male part and a female part. The male part is plugged to the top vibrator table and the female part is plugged to the bottom vibrator table.

The moulds are generally divided into 3 groups; block moulds, interlocking paver moulds and curbstone (kerbstone) moulds.

To produce a different size or shape of concrete product, the previous mould on the Block & Interlock Making Machine has to be changed with the one that is going to be used.

 

Trolley

Trolley is used to carry the wet concrete products laid on the pallets (blocks, interlocking pavers, curbstones, etc...) from the Block & Interlock Making Machine to the drying area.

Trolley is very popular especially in the small size of Block & Interlock Making Machines and also in the countries where man power is cheap.

The size of the trolley depends on the machine model.

Stacking System Robot (optional)

It is also called as Stacker and used to carry the wet concrete products (blocks, interlocking pavers,curbstones, etc...) laid on the pallets from the Block & Interlock Making Machine to the drying area like the Trolley does. The robot is operated together with the forklift instead of the Trolleys in order to decrease the needed man power.

Instead of the Trolley's requirement for the pallets without legs, the Stacking System Robot requires the pallets with legs to be carried by a forklift. The quantity of the stacked pallets over each other should be decided according to the forklift's capacity. Generally forklift operators choose to stack and carry 4-6 rows of pallets at once.
